 Specialty Day 2017

Thank you to the presenters and attendees at AOFAS Specialty Day 2017!
Jeffrey E. Johnson, MD, AOFAS President
Jeremy J. McCormick, MD, Program Chair

Orthopaedic surgeons and healthcare professionals from around the world came together for AOFAS Specialty Day 2017 in San Diego. The agenda for this focused day of foot and ankle education covered such wide-ranging topics as controversies in bunion surgery, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, ankle arthritis, optimizing patient outcomes, and anticipating healthcare changes in the new presidential administration. In the afternoon, the AOFAS and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) partnered to offer a combined session that discussed foot and ankle injuries in athletes. Attendees came away from Specialty Day with new perspectives on foot and ankle treatments and new approaches to surgical challenges.

Specialty Day 2017 Credit Hours: The AOFAS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The afternoon combined session included an additional 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ accredited by the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM).
